What's Trust Have To Do With It?

In an environment where employees may now be more loyal to their careers than to their companies, talent management practices continue to focus on lifelong commitments nonetheless.  While in times past these approaches may have been useful and appropriate, today – after a significant period of layoffs and down sizing – employees have become skeptical of their potential long term trajectory within companies.  And the “no more layoffs” messages presented by leaders may be contributing to the experienced lack of trust.
