Adventure MasterClass Belize — FUTURE DATES TBD

Adventure MasterClass Belize

Expect a new perspective

Change is ‘everywhere, all at once’ overwhelming our once effective coping strategies

With so many experiencing ‘post-pandemic burnout’, leaders have never been so challenged as they are today. How do we lead with grace when we ourselves have never been more uncertain? How do we offer people dignity in their careers when more and more folks are questioning the meaning of their work?

A reset & re-tooling for the age of uncertainty

We believe that access to our own wisdom on these matters is near at hand, but most of us lack the needed space to remember what we have forgotten. Insight requires stillness. And stillness, these days, requires discipline. Adventure MasterClass Belize offers both – a reset and a retooling – to seasoned leaders who need to regain some perspective.

The Program

Adventure MasterClass Belize takes participants out of the familiar, immersing them in an environment that will challenge and amaze in this extraordinary Central American country with a Caribbean feel.

The biodiversity of Belize’s oceans, jungles and mountains is renowned. We will use the remote environment, rustic outdoor living and the ocean playground as a way to surface how we respond to the unexpected. The Enneagram, a personality typology, will be our guide to deepen self- awareness, strengthen resilience and build new strategies for work and life.

The leadership workshops will:

  • Reset our perspective about the human condition and discover why high-achieving people are particularly struggling
  • Use the Enneagram to identify tactical (near term) and strategic (longer-term) pivots for personal sustainability
  • Focus on how to ‘ride the wave’ of emotion so that stress doesn’t accumulate
  • Dive into ALG’s current learnings on time, awe and humor – so that we can take it all a bit less seriously

Testimonials

Halfmoon Caye, Belize

Half Moon Caye Natural Monument, our home for 5 days/4 nights, will be shared with the rare red-footed booby birds and the most biodiverse reef ecosystem in the Western Hemisphere. Sitting 50 nautical miles from Belize City, this small, crescent-shaped island – or Caye (pronounced ‘key’) – is fringed with white sand and is a protected UNESCO World Heritage Site. This is a remote off-the-grid location. Expect a digital detox with no cell signal nor wifi. Camera batteries/cell phones for photo taking can be charged in the dining hall in the evening when the generator is running.

AccomModations

Our accommodations are seaside, tent cabanas with two singles or one double bed. They are furnished with wood frame beds, a nightstand, and room to store your gear. All bedding is provided as well as lanterns for light. If you are used to luxury hotels, this will be an adventure! If you are accustomed to backcountry camping, you will delight in the luxury of your shelter. Fall asleep to the sound of the ocean and wake up to incredible sunrises.

Base Camp

The Base Camp is designed to provide minimal ecological footprint and maximum comfort. We will be the sole visitors sleeping on the island, shared only by the conservation society that maintains it. Our group’s shared facilities include modern, eco-sensitive composting toilets, running water and solar-warmed showers. Meals are served in a comfortable open air dining lodge with a spectacular view of the Caribbean Sea. The chef features Belizean staples and fresh-baked treats daily, with the ability to cater to dietary restrictions.

Activities

Half Moon Caye is a snorkeling paradise. Our professional guides will outfit us with snorkeling gear as well as ocean kayaks. All skill levels can be accommodated. No previous experience is necessary. Daily outings will include snorkeling sessions in the surrounding reefs, kayaking and kayak-sailing, fishing, and, weather permitting, a visit to the world famous Blue Hole.
